Bulphan Jubilee Group presented;
A Welcome the Bench Party!
To mark the installation of our lovely bench, funded by our Diamond Jubilee events and kind donations, and to acknowledge those who helped with the Jubilee events, there was an official unveiling with tea, cakes, photo opportunities and a chance to mingle and chat on Saturday 8th June noon – 2pm.

Bulphan’s Diamond Jubilee Party:
With a little bit of squeezing, 150 people (and one dog!) managed to sit down in Bulphan Village Hall on Jubilee Monday and enjoy a celebration lunch together. Revd Hanson opened with the Diamond Jubilee prayer and Grace, after the meal the children were presented with Jubilee mugs and this was followed by fun and games outside. Mike and Daphne Fox had travelled round in Dave Hale’s prestigious vintage car, judging the decorated houses, so after the raffle was drawn, they presented the prizes.
Runners-up were Iris Aedy (whose decoration included tiny red white and blue bows all over the tree in her front garden) and the Youngs in Albert Road, who had even painted the stones on their verge red, white and blue! The winners were Julie, Ian, Charley and Lily Ross of Church Lane who had an entire Royal Tea Party in their garden! Runners up were the Youngs in Albert Road, and Iris Aedy in Church Lane. Highly commended were the Gulvins, who were the only residents of Peartree Lane with any decoration at all!
Daphne Fox won the first prize in the raffle, which was a luxurious Jubilee hamper donated by the Tutt family, and beautifully packed and presented by Dawn Tutt. Daphne in turn donated it to Dawn McMahon who was delighted.
Everyone then spent a relaxed evening enjoying the sunshine, the beer tent and Carol’s Jubilee version of Play Your Cards Right based on the Royal Family’s hierarchy.
A big thank you to everyone who helped, especially the small committee who met regularly to plan the day.
